Visit Door County in the summer to enjoy Lake Michigan or one of the many lakes or bays, or do a long weekend in the Fall to witness spectacular colors. Door County has 34 outlying islands, the largest of which is Washington Island which sits at the tip of the thumb of Wisconsin. You can take a ferry to Washington Island every hour to enjoy its 35 square miles of beauty. On the ferry ride, you will cross Death’s Door passage, which is where Green Bay (home of the Packers) and Lake Michigan meet.
