Things We Love: Minas S.A. Closed Back Woolen Slippers

A travel souvenir with true form and function

My husband, Shawn. and I travel all around the world. Last year we spent three weeks in the Cycladian Islands in Greece. Shawn is an exceptional travel planner and watch collector. We both grew up in families that collected and he has inspired me to embrace this small pleasure in life. Like my mother, I am also a unique textile and traditional fabric art collector. One of my favorite ways to collect these things that epitomize form and function is through travel. Whether it is a sweet tablecloth that was my grandmother’s or a handmade Belizian Mayan Calendar tapestry I bought on a beach in Ambergris, I love it all. One of my favorite recent finds were these awesome Minas closed back slippers. I found them in a chora in Folegandros, Greece and fell in love.

I have worn these wool, authentic, Greek slippers through two Chicago winters and summers. Regardless of season, these wool slippers moderate temperature perfectly. They also wear incredibly well. I love the Mediterranean design and the memories of Greece when I remember when I wear them every day. They are inexpensive and can be found directly from Minas online, or check out eBay or Etsy for more options!
