Things We Love: Classic Fall Boots

It’s that time of year again for fall fashion! Check out some of our favorite boots for both form and function.

Fall came fast in the Midwest this year. One day it was 90 degrees and the next 50 degrees. That means its time to change out our summer wardrobes for the hygge of sweaters, boots, jeans and all things cozy and warm. One of my favorite things to wear is a collection of boots for all cold weather needs. Here are a few of our favorite fall boots that are true classics.

  • Sorel Slimpack Riding Boots These boots are great for walking through the woods on a wet day or with a casual black dress. They are incredibly warm and adjust to the seasons. While they appear to be discontinued from Sorel, you can find them on eBay. They accommodate larger calves well.
  • Frye Jackie Boots I have been wearing the same two pair of Frye Jane boots (I have both brown and black) for ten years. This updated version, the Jackie, is slightly different with a pointier toe and button details. These are versatile over leggings, tights or under jeans.
  • Old Gringo Cowboy Boots I found my silver studded, black leather pair at Two Old Hippies in Nashville. They wear like iron and have just enough attitude to take notice. I also have a great pair of everyday brown Yippee Kay Yay brand boots (owned by Old Gringo) in brown with turquoise stitching that are great for everyday. Looking for a cool selection of cowboy boots? Check out Allen’s Boots in Austin online!
  • Tecovas Suede Lucy Bootie These were a birthday gift three years ago and they still look amazing. The chamois suede is buttery soft and they wear well. The soles are finely crafted with leather and these look great with a dress, or over skinny jeans.
  • Frye Melissa Two Button I have these in black and brown. They are a great classic riding boot and like the Sorel Slimpack, accommodate a wide calf well.
  • Dr. Marten Arcadia Boot I bought these functional and durable everyday boots at the Dr. Marten store in Spitalfields, London in cherry, truly a shiny, cool oxblood. I love how they are breaking in at the creases and looking better with age (just like me!)
