A getaway doesn’t mean you have to leave your house during COVID
Looking for some self care getaway options during COVID? Inseus mindfulness retreats are a perfect way for you to “get away” from daily life and stress from the comfort of your own home.
Getting onto an airplane is not easy. Staying at a family or friend’s house is not easy. The good news is we do not have to leave our house to have a getaway. We just need to get creative. For me, a getaway can be as simple as sitting on my screen porch and reading my favorite cookbook. I might take a walk in nature. Taking an Inseus mindfulness retreat is another great option.
I met Ashley Nelson three years ago through a great program called the Women’s Leadership Lab. I was inspired by her warmth, kindness and coolness. We became friends, and she invited me to participate in programs through her company, Inseus.
Through their live and virtual mindfulness and emotional intelligence programs, Inseus delivers transformational impact on the lives of individuals and on the culture and effectiveness of the organizations where they work and lead. Inseus offers experiential learning workshops, programming, one-on-one training, group training and consulting. Ashley and her team connect with and inspire people in profound personal ways. Their goal is to empower people to discover more productive, peaceful and authentic versions of themselves.
“Mindfulness is a profound practice that can be integrated into every moment of life, allowing us to be fully present, more aware, more resilient and more effective. Through simple, accessible practices we can learn to change our relationship with stress, better manage difficult emotions and connect more deeply to ourselves and those around us. For me, it’s been a game-changer at work and at home.”Ashley Nelson, Founder, Inseus
Mindfulness was founded by Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn. Dr. Kabat Zinn is an American Professor Emeritus of Medicine and the creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Kabat Zinn developed mindfulness to help people with chronic illness manage their own stresses of life and health.
“Mindfulness allows you to develop a broad set of cognitive and executive functions, raises self-awareness levels and facilitates emotional regulation, empowering people to substitute knee jerk reactions with more conscious and ultimately more efficient behaviors.”Harvard Business Review
I have attended two live Inseus mindfulness retreats, and am about to start a virtual Search Inside Yourself program through Inseus. During the live programs, we gather in a beautiful place surrounded by nature, where we enjoy daily meditation, yoga, mindfulness training and noble silence. Thanks to Inseus, anyone can participate from the safety of their home. Make time for yourself. An Inseus virtual program may be just perfect.
Inseus has some great online programs coming up, including: Search Inside Yourself Emotional Intelligence Program starting on September 9th, 2020. You could also consider an 8-Week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course starting October 12th, 2020 or One-Day Silent Meditation Retreat on November 21st, 2020. Want to learn more?
