Top 10 Fall Fashion Picks for 2020

Leather Pants: Leather is everywhere. In fact leather shorts are huge but unless you live in warm climate they are not that practical or timeless. These wide leg vegan leather pants are amazing. Incredible fit and tailoring and you would never know they are not leather. Plus, the price is hard to beat. They are also lined in felt to prevent sweating. I love these with a black cashmere sweater, a white blouse or the rose silk blow blouse. As soon as the weather dips to 60° degrees I am wearing these! Emmet Pants, Madewell $148

Gold Necklace: After several seasons of delicate layered necklaces try a bigger and bolder chain link that shows up well on Zoom. Pair it over a cashmere sweater or with a white blouse. Kenneth Jay LaneNet-A-Porter $70

Oversized Work Shirt: Half coat, half shirt, this is an item that you can throw on to walk the dog, run to the store or stay cozy with a pair of leggings. I love the neutral cream and oatmeal. & Other Stories $149

The White Blouse: If there is one item that will be the workhorse of your closet this year and then every year thereafter, it will be the white blouse. There are so many beautiful ones out there. It’s worth the money to splurge on something you will have a while, but if you can’t swing it there are many options at lower price points. Vanessa Top, Millie $169

Tie-Neck Blouse: Pussy-bow blouses feel feminine. When made of beautiful silk they dress up any pair of jeans or pants. This 70’s inspired blouse comes in a rosey pink color but you can’t fail with the cream or sexy black. Silk Bow Blouse, Cuyana $169

The Chelsea Boot: The Chelsea boot is around every season. If you have a pair in the closet you should just put those into heavy rotation. If you want something that is new, then buy one with a lug sole. This is a beautiful boot with more traditional styling but still has the lug sole. Flat Chelsea Boots, Massimo Duti $249. If you feel more adventurous look at these on Shopbop. Liz also some more great boot ideas here

Wide-Leg Highwaisted Cropped Jean: You probably already have a high-waisted jean in your closet. However, what’s fresh this season is a looser leg and more cropped length. You can go more bow legged since that is right off the runway (the Dad Jean). But this style has more longevity. This is perfect with mid-calf or chelsea boots on a daily basis. Dress it up with heels should you have a date night one day this fall. Slim wide-leg jean, J.Crew, $128

Oversized Cardigan Sweater: The Mr. Rodgers cardigan was all over the runways. Often in bright 80’s colors. Instead go for a softer color and turn to it over and over when you want to be cozy. You can style it as a sweater, layer it over a jean jacket for warmth and even wear it with a silk camisole and the gold chain for a more sexy @home look. Alpaca Wool Cardigan, & Other Stories, $99

Bold Floral Dress: Florals have been around for 2 seasons and seem to be here to stay this fall and winter. If you want something that is a standout piece you can wear to work, Zoom parties and other events next year. This is a great splurge. The swing style makes it super comfortable and these colors are good on most skin types. The print is designed by artist Francesca DiMattio, whose work plays on femininity and power. Tory Burch $498

Leather Cloud Clutch: Ever since Bottega Venetta came out with the oversized soft lambskin clutch there have been high and low versions of the style. If you really want a fall bag, buy something you can use forever. This bag is roomy and carries all the essentials but the buttery soft leather is incredible. Plus it easily drops into a larger tote. I bought the plain leather but the snake is great too. Soft Leather Cloud/Dumpling Clutch, $160
