About

soeurette, la ~ (f) (petite soeurfrangine) sister, the ~ Noun. ‐ a female person who has the same parents as another person.

We met in college, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From the day we first met we were always sharing things. Whether it was her grandma’s homemade brownies (Liz), cute tops (Mel), curling iron (Liz again), Aussie spray gel (Mel), fraternity party invites (Mel), how to pickle dilly beans (Liz), vintage clothes at the White Elephant store or design flower arrangements. It’s always been city girl meets country girl but our passion for finding cool things, making and sharing has always been part of our incredible 30-year friendship. We both had aunts, moms and grandmothers who taught us everything we know. Looking back, I can’t remember a week when we haven’t texted a recipe or picture of something we just baked, vacation photos, a link to a patio chair we just found for under $100 or even advice on why my pizza dough is not rising after 24 hours! During Covid-19 we were looking for a way to further share our ideas. This blog is an extension of our passion for collecting, cooking, tasting, travel and shopping.

We are here to share our secrets, traditions, inspiration and advice with our circle, just like any sister should.

We hope you will join us on this journey and be a part of this community.
