The place is the Loire Valley and the regional wine is one of the tastiest white wines out there, Sancerre. Aptly named after the medieval town that sits atop a hill looking down on the Loire River Valley.

The everything spread for summer corn. I have fond memories of fresh summer corn with this garlicky, parmesan spread. It’s more than addicting. As a teenager I would slather it on just about everything. Just make sure the whole household is eating it as it has generous amounts of garlic.

Lobster Rolls

Every summer, for as long as I can remember, I have had at least one lobster roll on July 4th. While this year was different due to the Pandemic, I still went to the beach and craved my lobster roll before watching fireworks on TV.

Kim’s Pickled Shrimp

My late friend Kim used to make her famous shrimp for parties and porch gatherings at her home near the beach. There is not a summer I can remember that she didn’t serve these tasty shrimp. A few years ago, at my bridal shower she finally shared the recipe. This weekend I made them in her honor as she was born on Father’s Day.
